- Preferred choice of rock salt when heavy snow is predicted or in particularly icy conditions
- Easily visible on white snow and ice so you can see where it has been applied
- Impurities and grit increase traction on slippy roads and footpaths
- Goes through minimal processing
- Meets BS 3247 - the British standard for de-icing salt
- Treated with an anti-caking agent which makes the salt free-flowing and helps prevent it from solidifying outside of the winter season when it is not needed
- Suitable for use in many of our salt spreaders
- Cost-effective option in large volumes
Our 25kg bags of brown rock salt include sand and dirt particles to help the salt stick to the surface, offering excellent friction and traction underfoot on roads, car parks, steps and public walkways. Brown rock salt is particularly suited for larger surface areas and is a cost-effective option in larger volumes compared to white rock salt.
Our rock salt meets BS 3247 which is the British standard for de-icing salt. It is the same quality as used by councils, local authorities and Highways England to ensure high footfall areas are clear of snow and ice.
Brown rock salt goes through minimal processing and works by lowering the freezing point of the surface it is applied to, which helps prevent ice formation.
This winter maintenance product is treated with an anti-caking agent which makes the salt free-flowing and suitable for use in many of our salt spreaders. It also helps to prevent the salt from solidifying during long-term storage.
Important Delivery Information
Due to the size and weight of the delivery lorries for orders of 21 bags or more (potentially weighing up to 44 tonnes), we require that you confirm that the area which you require the delivery to be to is flat and that the ground is stable and able to handle the weight of the vehicle. We cannot deliver on sloping ground, as the tail lift must be able to lay flat on the ground.
Orders of up to 40 bags will be delivered on a tail lift vehicle (with pallet truck), therefore no unloading equipment is required at the delivery address.
Orders for 41 or more bags of salt will require a fork lift truck to unload the salt from the delivery vehicle.
Please make sure you let us know of any delivery restrictions (weak bridges, narrow lanes, low bridges etc) when you place your order. By doing this, we can then make sure that your delivery of rock salt is delivered on a suitable vehicle. Failure to notify us of any such restrictions may result in a surcharge and delay of delivery.
Please Note: Our couriers are unable to deliver to a specific location on your property. All aggregates will require a signature upon delivery.
