- Contains a higher concentration of salt (approx 99.9% sodium chloride) to melt snow and ice quickly
- Best suited for areas where hygiene and cleanliness are vital - hospitals, retail outlets, school playgrounds, etc
- Easy to handle and spread on the ground
- Greater aesthetic appeal than brown rock salt and does not discolour snow
- Low maintenance – after a winter season, there is no residue to sweep up or drains to be cleared
- Leaves behind no residue and does not discolour snow
- Meets BS 3247 (the British standard for de-icing salt) to ensure high purity
- Harvested from sustainable sources around the Mediterranean Sea
- Less likely to clog in salt spreaders
White rock salt is purer than brown rock salt and clean to use, leaving no dirty residue to be trodden into carpets in buildings and vehicles. As it contains a higher concentration of sodium chloride (approx 99.9%), it dissolves quickly, meaning it can break through snow and ice with far greater speed and ease than other alternatives.
Our salt meets BS 3247 which is the British standard for de-icing salt and is harvested from sustainable sources around the Mediterranean Sea. It is carefully screened to produce the most effective spread pattern increasing pedestrian safety and the working life of spreading equipment.
White rock salt works better in colder conditions, as it decreases the freezing point of water and can generate heat. It is considered a safer and environmentally friendly option as it's better for plants, pets and children. This factor makes it more suitable for use at home.
Important Delivery Information
Due to the size and weight of the delivery lorries for orders of 21 bags or more (potentially weighing up to 44 tonnes), we require that you confirm that the area which you require the delivery to be to is flat and that the ground is stable and able to handle the weight of the vehicle. We cannot deliver on sloping ground, as the tail lift must be able to lay flat on the ground.
Orders of up to 40 bags will be delivered on a tail lift vehicle (with pallet truck), therefore no unloading equipment is required at the delivery address.
Orders for 41 or more bags of salt will require a fork lift truck to unload the salt from the delivery vehicle.
Please make sure you let us know of any delivery restrictions (weak bridges, narrow lanes, low bridges etc) when you place your order. By doing this, we can then make sure that your delivery of rock salt is delivered on a suitable vehicle. Failure to notify us of any such restrictions may result in a surcharge and delay of delivery.
Please Note: Our couriers are unable to deliver to a specific location on your property. All aggregates will require a signature upon delivery.
